What's Hot In Marketing For 2012?!

The Pivot Conference: From Social Brands to Social Business in New York took a look at how companies were truly interacting with their customers on social media in October. Companies feel they know their Social Consumers well.

They saw that the majority of the brands felt they did know their social cunsumers quite well, but how were these brands gathering their information? 

Most companies haven't yet asked social consumers what they want.
Without truly talking to your consumers about what they want, and how you can improve, how can you truly be effective for your social consumers?  
We have talked before about how the importance of breaking out of traditional marketing, and truly starting to interact with your customers and clients, but we can't stop there.  Simply pushing content out through social media channels won't be enough in 2012.  The leaders in your industry will be looking for ways to use social media not just as another way to get their message out, but as a way to truly listen to their social consumers on a bigger scale.
